Adv Patrick Sota is an admitted non practising advocate of the High Court of South Africa for the past 16 years. He has developed from the ranks of the trade unions in the early 90’s, having worked as a para-legal for SACCAWU and WECWA, before becoming a legal consultant for the Old Mutual Group.

He has worked for the SAA group as an Executive Manager in their Industrial Relations Department from 2000 until 2001, and he then opened his own Labour Consultancy in 2001. He has also worked in senior and executive positions for companies like Medscheme; Protea Coin Group; Sanlam, to mention but a few. He has since consulted for a number of companies both from the private and public sectors.

Adv Patrick Sota is a trained arbitrator and was a panellist with IMMSA; AMMSA and Tokiso. Over the years Adv Patrick Sota has trained thousands of managers on Labour Relation topics, as well as having initiated and chaired high profile disciplinary cases for both private and public sector clients. He has experience in the Labour Relations field that spans over 25 years.

He had compiled and trained line managers and Shopstewards together in Labour Relations techniques and strategies for ENGEN SA. He had conducted training for CEPPWAWU, NEHAWU and SATAWU Shopstewards in the field of Labour Relations and strategic Labour Relations Management.
